Controller - Vancouver

Softlanding helps organizations be their best by providing technology solutions and services that make them more productive. Softlanding specializes in Microsoft enterprise technology platforms, leveraging a combination of cloud, on-premises and hybrid configurations to increase productivity from the data center to end business users. Service offerings include ongoing managed services, professional/project services, cloud subscriptions and custom development.

Softlanding’s head office is in Vancouver and we have staff across Western Canada, Alberta, and most recently in Toronto. We just closed out our FY19 fiscal year and had top line growth of more than 50% over the previous year.

Overview of Responsibilities:

We're on the lookout for a financial professional “Swiss army knife” to join our growing Vancouver based team. Direct technology firm experience is not mandatory, but previous experience with service-based organizations is a minimum qualifier. An eye for detail and a willingness to learn the in’s and outs of our business environment will be key to a successful long-term fit. As the company continues to grow, so too will the ideal candidate grow within the finance role. You’ll be hands-on with day-to-day accounting to start, but we will grow to a finance team as the company scales.

The most critical function of the position is execution of monthly client invoicing. Invoicing data flows from a professional services automation system into QuickBooks, including a variety of agreement types, fixed and T&M services, cloud subscriptions and expenses. You must enjoy dynamic environments with lots of moving parts. You are comfortable “switching gears on a dime”. One of Softlanding’s core values is “continuous improvement”. You have a keen eye for detail and enjoy streamlining and automating inefficient processes. Rapid growth is exciting and challenging in equal measures: are you up for it?
