Director, Managed Services

Our offerings focus on professional services as well as a growing focus on managed services. Softlanding specializes in Microsoft enterprise technology platforms, leveraging a combination of cloud, on-premises and hybrid configurations to increase productivity from the data center to end business users.

At present the company is growing at a rate of over 30% year-over-year. With a head office in Vancouver, Softlanding has staff across Western Canada, Alberta, and Toronto. 

Platform specialties include Azure, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility and Security Suite, System Center, PowerBI, SharePoint, Windows 10, artificial intelligence, Security, and others. Our focus is on managed services, professional services, and custom development. Our professional services practice targets the Fortune 500 companies in Canada; our managed services practice includes medium-size businesses. 

We're on the lookout for a Director of Managed Services to join our growing team and continue to drive the department’s process development, performance, services and overall growth. The ideal candidate is an executive-level professional with extensive hands-on, technical experience, ideally in the platform specialities listed above, or similar technologies. The candidate should be a team player that challenges yet supports those reporting to him/her, while facilitating their career growth and fostering collaboration.

Other key measures include staff retention, development, and cross-team collaboration. Several years of experience within a Microsoft-centric managed services environment is important to fit into this position, as is experience around some of the platform specialities listed above.  


Key experience: 

  • Track-record of growing and maturing a managed services practice, preferably around industry standards such as ITIL. 
  • Executive or senior management career level with direct accountability for performance, department growth, personnel, and strategic direction.  
  • “Boots on the ground”, people-centric management style.  
  • Conflict resolution, employee coaching, and retention. 
  • Several years of experience in key technology areas which are supported by Softlanding 


Deliverables include: 

  • Ownership and accountability of client SOW’s, proposals, and renewals.  
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Professional Services teams to align common goals, messaging, and team initiatives.  
  • Expand and grow lines of service and strategic offerings in collaboration with other teams.  
  • Meet growth and MRR expansion targets by supporting the Sales team.  
  • Implement metrics, drive performance improvements, and create better insights through dashboards, reports, and automation. 


Our target candidate is based in south-west BC and will be primarily based out of our Vancouver office for team engagement purposes, though some remote work is OK.
