In this first episode of our 3 part series, Megha Kumar, Research Director for SW & Cloud Services at IDC Canada, navigates the trends and factors that are contributing to the modern workplace.
She dives into the way workplaces are transforming, the impact of COVID-19, and how digital workplaces will be the reality of the next normal.
One of the most significant contributors to workplace changes is the expanded technology footprint. This is due to the rise in prominence of digital transformation initiatives amongst organizations in the country.
Additionally, the lockdown resulting from COVID-19 accelerated the trend and required many organizations to facilitate working-from-home quickly. Eight months into the pandemic, organizations have not seen the productivity declines feared and, most employees are supportive of continuing with remote work policies.
These trends require organizations to undertake workspace transformation initiatives, whereby they can provide an agile environment that drives productivity, collaboration, and innovation.
