Established in 1923, Odlum Brown is an independent, BC-based, full-service investment firm providing disciplined investment advice and objective, value-based research with a singular focus on clients. Odlum Brown wanted to enhance client communication with integrated public and private websites.
CHALLENGE
Odlum Brown was seeking assistance with developing a new content management system that would integrate its public website, secure client extranet and company intranet. This project required integration of existing vendor application software, a graphic design refresh, a usability audit, documentation, training, and warranty. Odlum Brown sought a reliable partner that would use well-represented, standard technology solutions, and an open architecture to allow enhancements and changes in the future.
SOLUTION
Softlanding’s certified SharePoint team was chosen to handle the intranet component of the project, which involved implementing a user and content-friendly SharePoint 2010-based intranet.
Softlanding assisted in simplifying Odlum Brown’s content publishing process and enabled reports and news to be published on their new client portal.
A new information architecture was designed to optimize the site structure and content organization and a custom SharePoint branding was created to align with both the new intranet and extranet site design.
RESULTS
Integrated Content Management System
Odlum Brown enjoyed many benefits of their new integrated content management system including enhanced internal communications, increased efficiency and productivity, a standardized publishing process and a user-friendly system for content contribution and collaboration.
Enhanced Employee Productivity
The consolidated source of internal information not only helped employees work more efficiently together but also equipped them to provide a higher level of service for Odlum Brown clients moving forward.
Thorough Training
Softlanding provided customized author and site owner training to ensure employees were thoroughly educated before the new intranet was deployed, tested and populated with content.
